Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality treatment and patient safety. The RN must demonstrate strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough patient documentation.
Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Previous experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Additional certifications relevant to Med/Surg nursing or specialty areas.
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation systems.

Special Considerations:

Must comply with facility policies and patient safety protocols.
Work involves direct patient care in a hospital setting with adult medical and post-surgical patients.
May require flexibility to adapt to changing patient acuity and workload demands.

Scheduling:

36 hours per week on a travel contract basis.
Shift assignments determined by facility needs; may include day, evening, or night shifts.
Position is onsite, not remote.
