Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) unit is responsible for providing direct patient care to adult patients with diverse medical and post-surgical needs. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality treatment and patient safety. The RN must demonstrate strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough patient documentation.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Previous experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Additional certifications relevant to Med/Surg nursing or specialty areas.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation systems.

Special Considerations:

• Must comply with facility policies and patient safety protocols.
• Work involves direct patient care in a hospital setting with adult medical and post-surgical patients.
• May require flexibility to adapt to changing patient acuity and workload demands.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week on a travel contract basis.
• Shift assignments determined by facility needs; may include day, evening, or night shifts.
• Position is onsite, not remote.
