Our goal is to provide care for children with chronic, complex conditions in their home and allow them to stay in school—and out of the hospital—where they can thrive. Provides, coordinates, teaches, and/or supervises care for a group of patients usually in the setting of the patient’s home. Employs the appropriate discipline specific process to develop and implement plans of care for patients requiring in‑home health and support services, under physician orders. - Ability to provide skilled evaluation, treatment & care for pediatric patients (newborns through young adults) in accordance with the State of Maryland & District of Columbia Nursing Scope of Practice.
- Understanding and ability to apply principles of teaching and learning to patients and/or caregivers with varied abilities and learning needs.
- Three years (minimum) experience working in acute care facility on a pediatric unit or department; preferably in critical care or ED
- Prior experience and/or skills in administering high tech infusions such as Biologics, Immunotherapy or Chemotherapy
- Ability to care for and maintain central venous access devices (CVAD) including sterile technique when applicable, accessing ports, and removal of PICCs.
- Ability to place peripheral catheters (PIVs) in pediatric patients (newborns through young adults)
- Ability to use learn and use new technologies and computer programs quickly and effectively.
