Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician (ORT) Located off the scenic Oregon Coast, this healthcare organization seeks a dedicated surgical technician to facilitate invasive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. The position involves handling instruments and supplies, ensuring sterile field maintenance, and supporting the surgical team during operative procedures.

Job Details

• Position Description: Facilitates physicians performance of invasive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgeries. Ensures quality patient care during procedures and maintains sterile fields.
• Qualifications: Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology; relevant acute care experience preferred; certification from the National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred; CPR or BLS certification from an approved vendor is preferred.
• Responsibilities: Verifies surgery with consent forms, brings patient to the operating room, passes instruments, anticipates surgeon needs, performs counts, prepares sterile dressings, secures dressings, checks supplies and equipment, sets up sterile fields, helps drape, cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization, assists in room turnover, and preps the room for the next patient.
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
