Certified Athletic Trainer

The Athletic Trainer (AT) will function under the direction of a physician as a vital part of a thriving Orthopedic & Sports Medicine team. During the school year (10 months), the AT will primarily provide athletic training services to assigned middle/high school athletic programs while maintaining a standard 40 hour work week. Responsibilities include on-site coverage for practices, competitions, athletic training room operations, injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and coordination of care. During the summer months, the AT will support both clinic operations and secondary school athletic coverage, assisting with patient flow, physician directed procedures, outreach activities, and other sports medicine initiatives. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in athletic training or bachelor's in a related field (kinesiology, biomechanics, sports medicine, exercise science/physiology or health-related profession) with internship route certification in athletic training, preferably with a master's in same or related field, or two years' experience in a traditional on-field AT setting. BOC certification and Florida state licensure as an athletic trainer. Excellent communication skills are required along with strong computer literacy. Staff Athletic Trainer Level II Must be an AT for at least four years.
