Key Responsibilities

• Accurately administer external beam radiation therapy to patients in accordance with physician prescriptions, documenting all aspects of treatment and any deviations
• Perform startup procedures, morning QA, and report deviations of ?5% to the director or physicist; conduct weekly portal imaging or IGRT as directed
• Perform conventional and CT simulations in a reproducible manner; fabricate immobilization devices, custom blocking, and photon and electron blocks
• Prepare patients for treatment based on simulation documentation; accurately shift patients as directed and maintain appointments within 5 minutes of scheduled time
• Interact with dosimetry to retrieve DRRs, calculations, and treatment plans; attach plans to electronic charts and perform weekly chart checks
• Participate in chart rounds and tumor boards; practice all aspects of radiation safety and report any machine malfunctions

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• ARRT certification for Radiation Therapist licensure required
• Current Arizona State CTT Radiation Therapist certification required
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50–100 lbs. and extended periods of standing
• OSHA Exposure Category 1: role involves potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Varian 21iX Linear Accelerator and Pinnacle treatment planning software
• Proficiency with Mosaiq EMR and record-and-verify systems, as well as Allscripts
• Experience performing IMRT field QA and 3D compensator mounting
• Familiarity with assisting physicians during on-treatment visits (OTVs) and supporting billing submission processes
