A to Z Building Blocks is looking for a dependable, organized Child Care Center Cook to independently manage the daily operations of our kitchen. If you enjoy cooking, staying organized, and working in a structured environment, this could be the perfect fit.

This is a full-time, long-term position with consistent weekday hours. You'll work independently while preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children, maintaining an organized kitchen, and helping ensure everything is ready on schedule. You'll also interact with children and team members throughout the day as part of our center community.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks following a planned menu and CACFP guidelines
• Set up workstations with ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients for daily meals
• Cook using ovens and stovetops
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen
• Monitor food quality and proper food storage
• Wash dishes and complete daily kitchen cleaning
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs
• Weekly grocery shopping with our 14 passenger van
• Maintain kitchen budget

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Must be willing to drive our 14 passenger bus for grocery shopping and transporting children to and from school (training included)
• Food Handler Permit required (or willingness to obtain before starting)
• Food service or commercial kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to cook for large groups
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a background check
