CNC Mill Operator(Experienced or Entry Level) JOB SUMMARY Must understand the basics working principles and applications of CNC and Thermwood Machine. Work with static plans, drawings and part list. Loads, unloads, and secure panels on Thermwood machine. Properly machine the titanium wall using vertical machining center, to tool probing and offset including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Perform machining tasks for step-cut panels per the static plan instructions. Documenting of actions by completing production and quality logs. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.) Understand the basics, working principle and application, of vertical CNC machines. Prepares work to be accomplished per static plans, drawings, and parts lists; gathering parts, tools/shop-aids, and materials. Loads and unloads the parts on the CNC machine and secures the parts using different work holding techniques. Properly machine the titanium wall using vertical machining center, to tool probing and offset including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, compensation, calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Safely changes the tools following the static plans. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience Education: A High School Diploma is desired. Trade/Technical School is desired.
