Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Facility: Sinai Hospital – LifeBridge Health
Location: Baltimore, MD

Duration: 14 weeks
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week, Every other weekend & holiday
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Charting System: Cerner (Preferred)
Float Required: Yes – M/S and M/S Tele units (may float within facility/affiliate within scope)
Call Requirement: None
Note: Neuro Med/Surg Tele Certified Stroke Center & Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.

Position Overview:

Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including stroke, epilepsy, neurosurgical, and telemetry overflow patients.

Job duties:

• Monitor telemetry rhythms and assess patients for neurological and cardiac status changes.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and manage central/PICC/peripheral lines.
• Perform neurological assessments and provide care for stroke, seizure, and post-neurosurgical patients.
• Manage feeding tubes, wound care, heparin protocols, and respond to rapid response/code events.
• Document patient care in Cerner and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate treatment.

Requirements:

License: Valid Maryland RN License or Compact RN License
Experience: Minimum 2 years of MS/Telemetry experience; Neurology experience required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS & TCRN preferred

Unit Details:

Unit: 1000-7180 3 South – Neuroscience (Med/Surg Telemetry)
Patient Ratios: 1:5 (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: CVA, Ischemic Stroke, Epilepsy, Seizures, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cervical Stenosis, Radiculopathy, Rhabdomyolysis, S/P Laminectomy, S/P ACDF, S/P Craniotomy, ETOH Withdrawal, Medical-Surgical patients with and without Telemetry.
