Millwright Mechanic

CEIS Power is seeking an experienced millwright mechanic with 2+ years of experience working in a shop environment with reciprocating compressors or industrial mechanical/electrical experience. This position is on a contract-to-hire basis, and our client, an industrial manufacturing and service company, is looking for a motivated individual to join their fast-paced, growing team. The right person for this position will be able to perform well under pressure and be adaptable to rapid change and redirection.

Requirements

• Experience working with reciprocating compressors and rotating equipment
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Experience with alignment, precision measurement, and mechanical installations
• Background in industrial maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a field or shop environment

Responsibilities

• Install, mount, and set reciprocating compressors, engines, and motors
• Perform precision alignments, including coupling alignments
• Heat and install coupling hubs
• Conduct soft foot checks and corrections on compressor and engine feet
• Install and align cooler sheaves and belts
• Perform flatness checks on compressor frames
• Conduct rod run-outs, crosshead clearance checks, and piston end clearance adjustments
• Install distance piece supports and set proper lift per manufacturer specifications
• Install and level compressor cylinders
• Read and interpret compressor balance sheets and lubricator block diagrams
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in industrial equipment
