- Field Requirement: Minimum of 30 hours per week conducting direct voter contact
- Benefits: Sick leave accrual in accordance with company policy and applicable Alaska law
- Location: Kotzebue
Regular Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct a minimum of 30 hours of direct canvassing each week , including a combination of door-to-door and phone canvassing.
- Independently manage assigned canvassing schedules, turf, call lists, and daily outreach responsibilities.
- Meet established weekly and monthly expectations for door knocking, phone calls, voter contacts, and other assigned outreach metrics.
- Attend required weekly meetings with the RIO Field Manager and other Mobilization Center staff as requested.
- Maintain regular and reliable communication with the RIO Field Manager regarding progress, challenges, community feedback, and field needs.
- Participate in training, coaching, and practice sessions to strengthen canvassing and community engagement skills.
- Communicate directly with community members about assigned issues, programs, campaigns, and civic engagement opportunities using approved scripts and materials.
- Accurately track and submit canvassing data, including door and phone results, contact information, and other required reporting.
- Complete all required nightly or weekly check-out procedures, including syncing data, entering information, and completing assigned reporting forms.
- Maintain assigned technology, printed materials, literature, and other organizational resources needed to conduct field work.
- Identify community events, outreach opportunities, and other potential opportunities for meaningful engagement and communicate them to the RIO Field Manager.
- Represent The Mobilization Center professionally and respectfully while working independently in the community.
- Follow all organizational policies, field safety procedures, data security requirements, and project-specific guidelines.
- Immediately communicate challenges involving technology, data, safety, community interactions, or other issues that may affect the success of the program.
- Participate in occasional events, tabling opportunities, community meetings, or other outreach activities as assigned.
- Assist with data entry, program reporting, field analysis, and other administrative responsibilities as needed.

Expectations for Success
The Community Organizer is expected to be comfortable working independently while remaining accountable to the larger field team. Successful organizers will demonstrate strong time management, consistent communication, reliability, professionalism, and the ability to meet established door and phone canvassing goals without requiring daily in-person supervision.
This position requires significant direct interaction with community members and the ability to adapt to changing field conditions, schedules, and program priorities throughout the election season.
