Maintenance MechanicA Mechanical Technician is commonly expected to know how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical systems, apparatus and mechanical components of industrial machinery and equipment. You will be expected to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery. You will be expected to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances. You work daily to ensure assigned areas of responsibility are working with risk lowered to As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) specifically to achieve "ZERO HARM" so no injuries, illness or negative impact occurs to employees, property, the environment or the community. You will use your technical expertise to ensure the equipment is functioning accordingly to produce within quality specs and with the designed performance. To be successful in this role you will:Maintain industrial automation machinery and roboticsConduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrityPossess ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsHave a working knowledge of Lockout/TagoutTroubleshoot components and diagnose system failuresBasic knowledge of electrical components and conceptsPossess an in-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumaticsOther mechanical duties as assignedAble to perform tasks independentlyKnow and understand safety equipment and be aware of machine safety proceduresRequirements and Education:Must have a minimum of three years of industrial machinery maintenance experience to be considered for this position.Broad Technical training (high school plus 1 to 2 years of apprenticeship/ applied trades training ). Training requires a basic knowledge in the use of shop mathematics.Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment required. Multi-craft experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.Organizational experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) preferred.Supervisory Requirements:NonePhysical Demands: The physical demands in a heavy manufacturing environment are significantly more strenuous and require a high level of physical fitness and stamina. Workers are frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and lift or carry heavy materials—often over 50 pounds—throughout their shift. Tasks may involve operating or working near heavy machinery, using hand and power tools, and performing repetitive motions. Employees must also be able to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, loud noise, and other environmental factors such as dust, vibration, and slippery surfaces. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and physical agility, coordination, and situational awareness are critical to performing job duties safely and effectively in an industrial setting. Work Environment: The work environment for this position is an industrial manufacturing plant, with employees regularly exposed to physical and environmental challenges. Workers are continuously (70–100% of the time) around moving and potentially dangerous machinery and are subject to loud noise levels that require hearing protection. Continuously (70-100% of the time), they may encounter heat from both weather and industrial processes, as well as cold weather conditions. Continuously (70-100% of the time), the environment may include wet or humid conditions, slippery floors or ramps, vibration from equipment, exposure to outside weather, dust, electrical shock hazards, and contact with oil, grease, or solvents.
