JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCTION WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

Department: Warehouse / Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm

Lunch 11:30-12:30pm (not paid)

Must have open availability for Saturday OT

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of picking, packing, staging, and material handling duties. This role operates in a fast-paced production and shipping environment, requiring high spatial awareness, physical endurance, and strict adherence to safety protocols.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Material Handling: Load, unload, move, and stack raw materials, components, and finished goods manually or using industrial equipment.
• Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, label, and stage outgoing customer shipments accurately according to picking sheets or digital scanner instructions.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse vehicles, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and shrink-wrap machines.
• Production Support: Feed raw materials into automated conveyor lines, assembly stations, or processing machinery to maintain workflow.
• Inventory Control: Conduct routine cycle counts, log inventory discrepancies, and utilize RF scanners or warehouse management software (WMS).
• Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation in compliance with 5S and OSHA standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Lifting Requirements: Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Mobility & Posture: Constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and kneeling on hard concrete surfaces for extended shifts (8-12 hours).
• Heights: Required to climb stairs, ladders, and occasionally operate order pickers or work on elevated mezzanines.
• Sensory Demands: Requires excellent depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to hear audible backup alarms, horns, and emergency sirens.

SPECIFIC WORKPLACE HAZARDS (SAFETY-SENSITIVE)

• Industrial Traffic: Continuous proximity to moving industrial vehicles, overhead cranes.
• Machinery & Tools: Exposure to open, moving mechanical parts, pinch points, pneumatics, and sharp cutting tools.
• Environmental Exposure: Working in non-climate-controlled environments subject to extreme seasonal heat, cold, dust, loud noises, and vibration.
• Pressurized Equipment: Handling and packing of pressurized equipment for firefighting.
