Lead Software Engineer - Java Location - New York, NY (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite) Duration - Contract Rate -DOE Job Description We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Java with strong server-side Java development experience to build and enhance high-performance trading applications in the Fixed Income domain. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing scalable, low-latency applications, working with both modern and legacy systems, and collaborating directly with business stakeholders including traders, sales, and operations teams. Required Skills 6+ years of hands-on Java development experience Strong expertise in Core Java and server-side application development Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles Experience working with both legacy and modern enterprise applications Fixed Income domain experience, particularly US Treasuries or Interest Rate Swaps Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users Experience using Claude Code or similar AI-powered CLI development tools Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field .
