High on the slopes of Pritchard Hill, Gandona Estate sits on volcanic soils above Lake Hennessey. Here among 17 acres of organically farmed Bordeaux varietals, our passionate team tends each vine by hand with uncompromising comment to quality. From vineyard to cellar, we employ a variety of techniques and fermentation vessels to express the true character of the vineyard.
Job Description: We are offering a harvest cellar internship for the 2026 harvest (Mid August through November). This position is ideal for someone who wants experience in the production of critically acclaimed, site-specific wines and has a willingness to learn. Responsibilities: • Work with the cellar team in preparing for harvest (vineyard sampling, lab analysis, etc).• Cleaning and sanitization of winery equipment (tanks, hoses, press, pumps, crush equipment, etc).
• Fruit processing, sorting and machinery setup.
• Fermentation monitoring, sampling and nutrient additions.
• Pump-overs, punch-downs, pomace removal, pressing, barrel cleaning, barrel painting and filling.
Qualifications/Requirements: • Must be punctual.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
• Flexible to work varying hours, including overtime and weekend work (typically 6 days a week once we start picking fruit).
• Able to work well in a fast paced, physically demanding, team environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
• Able to follow written and oral instruction.
• Previous industry experience or a wine related degree is desired but not necessary.
• Able to communicate clearly and work well with a team.
-Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude and be highly dependable.
