Registered Nurse (Med Surg)

Location: Detroit, MI Shifts: 12hrs Nights

As a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg unit, you will play a critical role in the care and support of patients and their families. Your primary responsibilities will include establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and families, creating comprehensive care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions to achieve established goals. You will collaborate closely with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of integrated and coordinated care. Effective communication with patients, families, colleagues, and subordinate staff is essential to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Therapeutic Relationship and Care Planning: Establish a strong therapeutic relationship with patients and their families. Collaboratively develop detailed care plans that prioritize the most critical aspects of care.
2. Assessment and Evaluation: Continuously assess the effectiveness of care plans and interventions. Make adjustments and revisions as needed to promote the optimal achievement of established goals.
3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Initiate and maintain open communication with other healthcare team members to ensure that patients and families receive a comprehensive range of expertise and services. Work together to create a coordinated and integrated plan of care.
4. Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, subordinate staff, and peers. Ensure that care plans and associated interventions are clearly understood, operationalized, and revised as necessary.

Submission Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience is required.
• Specialized Experience: Preferred experience with tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients.
• Telehealth Training: Required.
• COVID Vaccination: Required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Preferred.

Certification Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

State License Requirements:

• Michigan state nursing license.

Additional License Requirements:

• License must be active at the time of submission.
