Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Hybrid

Location: Bronx, NY
Job Type: Regular Full-Time
Schedule: 25+ hours per week
Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000 annually (DOE)**

Position Summary:

Seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for a hybrid role providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients. This position involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team and includes medication management, patient education, and ongoing follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and establish diagnoses
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe psychiatric medications in accordance with established guidelines
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and clinical team members
• Provide psychiatric education, counseling, and emotional support
• Order, interpret, and explain laboratory tests
• Educate patients on medications, including risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
• Coordinate referrals for inpatient psychiatric care when necessary
• Maintain ongoing patient communication and follow-up
• Provide primary medical care services when appropriate
• Perform related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Psychiatric/Mental Health specialization
• Active New York State PMHNP license
• Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience
• Ability to work 25 or more hours per week
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
