Radiation Therapist – Hillcrest Department: MOP Radiation Oncology Worksite: Hillcrest Appointment Type: Career Appointment Percentage: 100% Union: EX Contract Hiring Pay Scale: $59.43 – $73.89 per Hour Duties: Under supervision, confers with Radiation Oncologists and works closely with dosimetrists to discuss treatment plans, place reference markings, review procedures, advise on dietary and skin care, and position patients for various therapy modalities. Set up equipment according to the treatment plan, verify placement of bars, wedges, and immobilization devices, and monitor patient reactions, reporting deviations. Record delivered dosage values on the chart, verifying against the prescribed plan. Calculate prescribed dosages, assist in preparing applicators for interstitial and intracavitary implants, operate simulation and film processing equipment, evaluate technical quality of localization port films, perform minor equipment adjustments, order equipment and supplies, and evaluate equipment for modification and replacement. Function as a member of a team with Senior Radiation Therapists on supervoltage equipment and act independently in the operation of orthovoltage equipment and in taking radiographic films for simulation purposes. Minimum Qualifications: California Radiology Technologist of Radiography (CRT-R). Registered Technologist for Radiation Therapy issued by ARRT (R.T(T)(ARRT)). Current BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six months; BLS, NRP, ACLS, etc. must include hands‑on practice and in‑person skills assessment. Experience with daily set‑up and treatment of patients. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Self‑starter, accountable, requiring minimal supervision; open to new ideas, creative, flexible, comfortable in a large, complex organization. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a high level of professional integrity and commitment to high standards. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a large complex healthcare environment. Experience with CT simulations, MU calculations, Aria, Patient Manager, Treatment Planning, and Time Planner. Special Conditions: Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. Pay Transparency Act: Annual full pay range: $124,090 – $154,282 (prorated if appointment less than 100%). Hourly equivalent: $59.43 – $73.89. Factors in determining appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
