Engineering Manager, Transportation & Warehousing

Salary: $109,000 - 159,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Management, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• We require at least seven years of experience in industrial engineering or logistics and distribution engineering.
• We need deep experience with warehouse infrastructure and building systems, including material handling equipment, racking, dock equipment, and drop lots.
• We look for experience taking programs from concept through execution.
• We require exposure to warehouse automation technologies such as AGVs, AS/RS, and conveyor systems.
• We need a track record of influencing cross-functional partners and external parties without direct reporting authority.
• We expect strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain analyses and recommendations to senior leaders.
• We look for experience driving initiatives in matrixed organizations.
• We need proven ability to build strong internal and external partnerships and hold vendors and stakeholders accountable.
• We value background in inventory management, warehouse operations, or adjacent supply chain functions tied to distribution.
• We require project management experience for capital initiatives up to five million dollars.
• We need a solid understanding of distribution operations and end-to-end supply chain management.
• We require willingness to travel up to 50% to plant and distribution center locations.
• We require that candidates be based in Omaha, NE, Chicago, IL, select field locations, or remote locations east of Denver, CO, within reasonable proximity to a major airport.

• We will have you serve as a subject matter expert in material handling equipment, industrial racking systems, warehouse automation, and warehouse facility design, optimization, and infrastructure.
• We will have you develop cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing strategies within your area of expertise.
• We will have you create and sustain multi-year execution plans for owned and leased warehouse facilities.
• We will have you oversee warehouse operating budgets and assess capital investment tradeoffs.
• We will have you evaluate emerging technologies and determine how they can be applied across our distribution network.
• We will have you develop equipment specifications and standards that support modern warehouse concepts and operating practices.
• We will have you build strong supplier relationships to drive accountability, performance, and value.
• We will have you collaborate across Transportation and Warehouse Operations, Manufacturing Platform teams, Program Management, and Finance.
• We will have you develop financial business cases for optimization and capital projects.
• We will have you lead capital planning and execution for powered industrial equipment and racking initiatives, including replacements, upgrades, and network-wide programs.
• We will have you manage capital equipment installation projects against budget, schedule, and performance targets.
• We will have you apply a strong understanding of business drivers and the broader enterprise impact of capital investment decisions.
• We will have you engage external engineering firms, third-party logistics partners, and distribution center leadership to support site-specific project delivery.
