DESCRIPTION
The County of Yolo and Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is recruiting to fill one (1) position in the class of Psychiatrist Board Eligible/Psychiatrist Board Certified. The full-time psychiatrist will join our dedicated behavioral health team in Yolo County, where professional fulfillment aligns with an exceptional work-life balance. Under direction, performs psychiatric evaluations of patients and develops and implements treatment plans; provides consultation services to staff, departments, schools, community organizations, courts, and other agencies.
Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the entry level of the Psychiatrist series. Incumbents must be eligible to be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology at the time of appointment to this class.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are typical of those performed by the incumbent in this classification; however, other duties may also be required.
Psychiatrist Board Certified Employment Standards:
Possession of a valid Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate issued by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California, and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry.
License
Some positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. - Conducts examinations to assess patient's social, emotional, and physical condition;
- Conducts psychiatric evaluations of patients;

- Coordinates patient use of multi-human service resources such as medical, welfare, school, probation, public health, or conservatorship services;
- Interprets and explains to patients and relatives the social and emotional factors or mental disorders;
- Prepares case history summaries and determines that all significant aspects of cases have been considered.
Psychiatrist Board Certified Employment Standards:
