This is a Registered Nurse 2 vacancy open to candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of RN work experience!

• Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

• Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Summary:

This is a full time 36-hour a week, night shift position.

Unit Bio:

Join our 4-bed Special Care Unit, a high-acuity critical care environment within a close-knit community hospital. This role offers the opportunity to care for patients requiring intensive therapies and interventions, including ventilator management, sepsis, acute and chronic respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, post-surgical recovery, and advanced cardiac monitoring.

While nurses in this setting often practice with a high level of autonomy, they are supported by a collaborative care team that includes CNAs and interdisciplinary partners. The unit fosters a culture of learning and professional growth, with a focus on building critical thinking skills and clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and strong clinical judgment are essential.

The Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
2. Licensure/Certification: Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Other certifications may be required specific to area of practice or in accordance with Department guidelines.
3. Experience: One year of recent RN experience required. Automatic advancement from RN I level if all onboarding requirements are complete, including the New Grad Residency (where available).

The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package.

The pay range for this position is $37.09 to $50.17 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
