divh1CT TECHNOLOGIST/h1pJob Category : RADIOLOGY AND IMAGING Requisition Number : CTTEC025465/pulliulliPosted : May 1, 2026/li/ul/liliPart-Time/liliaddressCity of Greensburg Greensburg, PA, USA/address/li/ulh2Job Details/h2h3Description/h3p/ppThe CT Technologist performs the computed tomography examination to produce images of various anatomical parts and systems for diagnostic purposes as directed by the radiologist./ppstrong Essential Job Functions /strong/pulliCollects pertinent data about the patient and procedure./liliReconfirms the patients identification and verifies the physicians order./liliAssures that the proper screening protocol is completed prior to patient entering the scan room./liliVerifies the patients pregnancy status when appropriate./liliProvides information to the patient about the procedure./liliVerifies the patient has consented to the procedure and answers any questions./liliProvides accurate explanations and instructions at an appropriate time and at a level the patient can understand./liliAnalyzes the information during the assessment phase and determines optimal imaging parameters per diagnosis./liliDetermines whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for procedure./liliAssesses factors that may contraindicate procedure such as medications or insufficient patient preparation./liliSelects appropriate shielding and immobilization devices./liliReviews the patients chart/physician order to determine optimal scanning parameters for suspected pathology./liliAdministers contrast agents according to established guidelines./liliObtains written consent prior to IV/oral contrast administration./liliEvaluates lab values prior to administering contrast agents./liliDetermines appropriate type and dose of contrast agent to be administered./liliCompletes oral contrast screening form when needed./liliMonitors patient during exam for adverse reaction to contrast media./liliUsing sterile techniques, preps site and starts IV when applicable./liliObtains optimum images during scan./liliReformats images as needed to better visualize anatomy or pathology according to established guidelines./liliSend images to PACS for interpretation by radiologist./liliArchives images to CD or data storage device as needed./liliDocuments information about patient care, exam, and patient history in appropriate record./liliVerifies correct order is entered into RIS./liliDocuments appropriate patient history into PACS system./liliDocuments any exceptions from the established guidelines./liliScans appropriate documents into PACS system./liliCompletes medication reconciliation documentation per department policy./liliFacilitates correspondence with all departments to ensure procedures are done in a timely manner./liliWorks with Centralized Scheduling, nursing units, and ER to accommodate STAT or ASAP orders./liliResponds to emergency calls per department procedures./liliMaintains equipment workstation in optimum condition./liliPerforms daily QC on CT equipment./liliAssures adequate patient care and office supplies are maintained./liliReports equipment malfunction to service provider./liliImplements downtime procedures when necessary./liliCoordinates rescheduling of patients during equipment downtime./liliInitiates established downtime procedures during HIS/RIS and PACS downtime./liliPerforms daily glucometer QC./liliPerforms glucometer procedure on patients./liliMaintains annual glucometer competency./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrong Competency and Experience (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) /strong/ppstrong Required Qualifications/Experience /strong/pulliCompletion of a (JRCERT) accredited Radiologic Technology recognized by ARRT./liliStrong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment/liliStrong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience./li/ulpstrong Preferred Qualifications/Experience /strong/pulli.Six (6) months experience as a Radiologic Technologist/li/ulpstrong License, Certification Clearances /strong/pulliCurrent Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)./liliCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program./liliAct 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system/liliAct 33 with renewal/liliAct 73 FBI/li/ulpstrong Supervisory Responsibilities /strong/pulliThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department./li/ulpstrong Position Type/Expected Hours of Work /strong/pulliIncumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.)./liliTravel may be expected locally between System locations./li/ulpstrong Equal Employment Opportunity /strong/ppIndependence Health and its affiliated companies are Equal Opportunity Employers.
