Quality Assurance Analyst

Overview

We are seeking a QA Analyst / UAT Specialist to support a large-scale unemployment insurance modernization environment. This individual will work directly with business stakeholders, product owners, and end users to validate enhancements and changes being made across multiple enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in software quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and test case development, with experience supporting large enterprise systems in government, insurance, financial, accounting, or highly regulated environments.

This role is highly business-facing and requires someone who can interpret requirements, understand acceptance criteria, create test scenarios, execute testing, and clearly communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Review business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to understand system enhancements and changes.
• Create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business requirements.
• Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and functional testing activities.
• Work closely with business users, customers, and project teams to validate system functionality.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure defects are resolved and requirements are met.
• Support testing efforts across approximately 14 active projects impacting unemployment insurance systems.
• Perform regression testing to ensure system enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionality.
• Participate in requirements review sessions and provide feedback on testability and business impacts.
• Document testing results and provide status updates to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, user acceptance testing, or functional testing.
• Experience writing test cases from business requirements, user stories, or acceptance criteria.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, defect management, and testing best practices.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders or end users.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jira and/or Jira-related testing tools.
• Background supporting government agencies, unemployment insurance programs, benefits systems, or public sector technology projects.
• Experience in insurance carriers, claims systems, workforce services, or other highly regulated environments.
• Background in accounting, finance, auditing, CPA-related functions, legal services, compliance, or regulatory environments.
• Experience validating data and performing business process testing within large enterprise environments.
