Athletic Trainer 2026 Part-Time Permanent

Job Overview The Athletics Department is seeking an Athletic Trainer who possesses a valid NATA certification to provide care, prevention, and treatment of injuries for the College’s student athletics program. The trainer will deliver emergency first aid in high-stress situations, maintain a treatment facility, and collaborate with the Athletics Director to implement injury prevention, treatment, and emergency action plans, maintain student health records, and inventory first-aid supplies. Work Schedule and Compensation This is a permanent, part-time position (variable hours schedule*, 20 hours per week, 12 months per year). The assignment receives an additional 5% pay differential for working a variable hours schedule in addition to the posted salary. *The College provides medical, dental, and vision coverage for part-time employees and their eligible dependents. Responsibilities Identify, evaluate, and manage athletic injuries and take appropriate steps for injury referral. Provide light, heat, cold, sound, water, exercise, manual therapy, and other physical therapy treatments as directed by physicians. Measure and fit braces, guards, and other protective devices; operate related therapy equipment as needed. Provide long-term reconditioning and physical therapy programs as prescribed by medical personnel. Evaluate, make decisions, and communicate coaches’ preventive, rehabilitative care and participation status of injured athletes. Attend home and away practice sessions, games, and travel with teams to provide first aid and emergency medical care. Record and maintain accurate injury and treatment records for student athletes. Assist medical personnel with physical exams, clinical injury check-ups, and health screening examinations; review paperwork and vital signs. Maintain the Athletic Training Room and equipment in a clean, orderly condition. Assist in the development of off-season conditioning programs for athletes. Assist athletes, students, and staff in submitting athletic insurance claims. Assist in preparing the budget for athletic first-aid supplies and equipment. Perform other related duties as requested or assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or a closely related field. Two years of experience working as a certified athletic trainer. Valid Education/Experience equivalency may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Valid National Athletic Trainers Association certification and first aid & CPR/AED certification. Valid driver’s license if required to operate a vehicle.
