Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Salem, OR area. Our client is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to inspect welding and fabrication for compliance with codes and specifications.Position Responsibilities:Inspect welds and fabricated assemblies to drawings, codes, and specificationsSupport the quality program and AISC certification requirementsDocument inspection results and nonconformancesVerify welder qualifications and WPS complianceWork with production to resolve quality issuesPosition Essential Job Functions:Perform visual weld inspections to AWS D1.1 and project specificationsCheck dimensions, fit-up, and material traceabilityMaintain inspection records and quality documentationSupport third-party and customer inspections and auditsHelp with welder testing and qualificationPosition Skills:AWS CWI certification required2+ years of welding inspection experience in structural steel fabricationStrong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and AISC quality requirementsAbility to read shop drawings and weld symbolsNDT experience (UT, MT) a plusBenefits:Competitive salary of $80,000 - $85,000 per yearComprehensive health insuranceRetirement plan with company matchPaid time off and holidaysProfessional development opportunities
