Accounts Payable Coordinator (Greater Chicago Area)

Seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator Contractor who will be assisting our client’s Accounting and Finance Department located downtown Chicago. Our client, a top legal firm, is looking for an individual to join the team. This role will be hybrid and is structured as a three-four+ month assignment with potential extension given the growing needs of the team. This individual will have full responsibility for Accounts Payable functions.

Responsibilities:

• Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
• Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Maintains historical records by filing documents.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business discipline.
• Minimum of two years of AP / Accounts Payable and accounting experience.
• Experience with Chrome River, Emburse, or Coupa a plus.
• Highly organized, thorough, and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time for multiple projects and deadlines and to adapt to changing work priorities.
• Experience in a fast paced, results-oriented, hands-on environment.
• Ability to manage confidential material in an appropriate manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills collaborating with across the entire organization subordinates in the successful resolution of day-to-day business issues.
• Proficient computer skills: MS Windows, MS Office applications, MS Excel.
