Evaluating AI-generated mortgage underwriting decisions, the part-time Mortgage Underwriter will engage in project-based work remotely, focusing on creating test cases, drafting approval letters, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities Evaluate AI-generated mortgage underwriting decisions across various loan types Create test cases for qualifying income calculations for self-employed borrowers Draft and audit conditional approval letters and adverse action notices for compliance Required qualifications Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field 3+ years of experience in mortgage, lending, real estate, or financial services Current or recent experience in underwriting and origination or related roles Ability to calculate qualifying income from IRS Forms 1040, Schedule C, Schedule E, and K-1 Deep familiarity with Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac selling guides and relevant regulatory rules
