Load Builder

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We focus on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes, including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Pay: $21.02-$25.50 an hour. The Load Builder supports our Mission of Legendary Service Through Teamwork by safely and efficiently building loads for our drivers to then deliver. The accuracy of loads is key to saving time and money for the company, so the load builder is an important component of the PARR team. Qualifications OSHA Certified Forklift License Knowledge of receiving and inventory control principles, practices and protocols Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials Ability to read and interpret "pick tickets" and invoices Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy work environment Responsibilities Build safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading "pick tickets" and invoices Read SKUs and identify material types to accurately build loads Load and off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift Complete inventory adjustments Put stock away and tag loads Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations Open and close yard as needed Keep forklift clean Ensure that appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy Maintain yard cleanliness during work Know product substitutions and apply the knowledge to building the load Cross-train as backup driver, receiver, counter sales, and dispatcher if needed Proactively seek to learn products and applications for the end user Regularly attend product knowledge meetings Understand weight limits and length limits for the company's fleet of trucks to safely and lawfully load trucks Wear proper high‑visibility and safety gear Safely operate equipment and always honk horn and look before backing or turning around a blind corner Perform daily safety audits of forklift and promptly report malfunctioning equipment Participate in safety committee when necessary Review and complete Hold Harmless form with customers Physical Requirements Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time; grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard; lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects up to 50 feet; work outdoors in all weather conditions; local and overnight travel may be required; cover different shifts when necessary.
