The Role As a Registered Nurse in UVA Health's Outpatient Surgery Centers, you will provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a focused outpatient environment. This role balances efficiency with clinical rigor and allows nurses to deliver high-quality care in settings intentionally designed for safety, flow, and patient experience. In this role, you will:

• Deliver perioperative nursing care including preoperative preparation, intraoperative support, and postoperative recovery
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure safe and seamless procedures
• Apply evidence-based practice and standardized protocols to support patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and professional standards
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Monday through Friday schedule with no nights, weekends or holidays and minimal call with incentive pay

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of nursing experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
