Liquor Store Clerk

Description

Liquor Store Clerks are responsible for assisting customers, operating the register, stocking merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring products are organized and available for customers. This position plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and well-stocked store while providing friendly and courteous customer service and following all alcohol sales laws and company policies.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Provide efficient, friendly, and courteous customer service at all times.
Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit card, and other approved transactions.
Verify customer identification and age before completing alcohol sales as required by law and company policy.
Follow all company policies and applicable laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Refuse alcohol sales when required by law or company policy.
Stock liquor, wine, mixers, and other merchandise in assigned locations.
Keep shelves, coolers, displays, and sales areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Return misplaced merchandise to its proper location.
Assist customers in locating products and answering general product questions.
Assist with receiving and unloading deliveries.
Verify merchandise received and report damaged, missing, or incorrect products to management.
Verify shelf labels and pricing accuracy for merchandise.
Rotate merchandise as needed and check products for damage or quality issues.
Maintain a clean and organized stockroom and storage area.
Stack and organize cases safely and efficiently.
Break down boxes and properly remove and dispose of cardboard and trash.
Sweep, mop, clean counters, and maintain other areas of the store as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Follow company procedures regarding cash handling, refunds, voids, and other register transactions.
Help prevent theft and immediately report suspicious activity to management.
Handle bottles, cases, and other merchandise carefully to prevent breakage or damage.
Ability to lift, carry, and move cases of merchandise as needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain on feet for extended periods.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
