Job Title – Patient Services Representative (Must be fluent in Spanish) Department – Operations Reports to – Center Manager Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance (Short & Long Term Disability) 403(b) Plan Paid Holidays CME (Continuing Medical Education) About Position The Patient Services Representative (Medical & Dental) is responsible for successfully checking in medical, dental, and behavioral health patients upon arrival and ensuring completion of their registration process. The PSR schedules patient appointments for our medical and/or dental sites, and completes required documentation prior to patients leaving our healthcare centers. The PSR coordinates with Center Managers to correct denied claims to minimize our error rate, and ensures patient data is accurate and complete. The position requires a strong understanding of HIPAA Privacy Rule and release of medical information, and the ability to work independently to process complex patient claims and authorization issues. Excellent customer service skills and effective communication are essential. Work Location – Moncure CHC, 7228 Moncure-Pittsboro Road, Moncure, NC 27559 Schedule – Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm Thursday: 8:00am – 8:00pm Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm Saturday: 8:00am – 1:00pm (Rotating) Required Travel – N/A (Subject to change) Duties / Responsibilities Check in patients – include gathering, completing, and documenting accurate data such as PCP, address, and insurance verification in Electronic Medical Records. Ensure completion of the registration process. Complete patient check-out procedures and necessary close documentation. Answer center phone calls in a timely, professional, and efficient manner. Demonstrate understanding of HIPAA and release of medical information. Refer patients to external specialty practices as necessary. Schedule patient appointments. Work with the Center Manager to correct denied claims and minimize error rate. Attend Center Management staff meetings and other corporate trainings/meetings. Maintain patients’ confidence by keeping medical records confidential. Assist other team members in the performance of their assignments, projects or goals. Provide appropriate forums to encourage teamwork with staff members. Work with CM staff to help improve provider efficiency and productivity. Qualifications Education / Experience – High school diploma; 1 to 2 years of customer service in a health care setting preferred. Required Skills – Bilingual (Spanish/English) and excellent communication skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Dentrix and Athena software databases. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Punctual and extremely reliable. Fast learner and ability to adapt to new processes and ideas. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Detail‑oriented with exceptional time management skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Accurate and efficient in data entry. Identify and understand issues and problems. Handle sensitive and confidential information. Experience with Microsoft Outlook. Work with minimal supervision, problem‑solve in a high stress environment, and interact positively with all internal and external customers. Determine work priorities. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Immunizations – Medically cleared for communicable diseases and all immunizations up to date prior to beginning employment.
