Tech - MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Summary:
Performs microbiology laboratory tests and quality control procedures under the supervision of the laboratory manager. Communicates effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and team members to ensure accurate and timely results.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic microbiology tests in accordance with laboratory protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot clinical laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to quality control procedures and document all test results accurately.
• Provide guidance and support to Medical Laboratory Assistants, functioning as a generalist in microbiology.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to communicate testing outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field.
• Be board eligible by NCA or ASCP, with certification completed within one year of employment.
• Have 1-3 years of relevant microbiology laboratory experience.
• Hold certification as MT by ASCP or CLS by NCA within one year of hire.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and lead laboratory tasks effectively.
• Be capable of working in a clinical microbiology environment with minimal supervision.
