Exciting Opportunity for an L&D RN!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Schedule: Every Other Weekend, First to Float
- Unit: Med-Sol Prescreens, Auto Offer, Manager Review within 24 Hours
- References Required:
- 2 Supervisor References (Charge Accepted)
- 1 Reference within 12 Months and 1 within 3 Years
- Legal Documentation:
- Copy of Driver's License needed at submission
- Employment History: Must not have been directly employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit within the past year.
- Preferred Experience: PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable.


Unit Details:


- Type: High-Risk Unit
- Care: Couplet Care - Must be willing to do it all from start to finish
- Beds:
- 10 L&D Beds
- 2 OR Suites for C-Sections
- 3 Triage Beds
- 3 OB-ED and 3 Antepartum Testing Beds
- 12 Postpartum Beds
- Births: 140-165 monthly

Patient Care & Ratios:


- Follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios:
- 1:3-4 Couplets
- 1:1 to 1:2 in L&D
- 1:1-3 Antepartum

Required Certifications:


- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Advanced
- STABLE preferred

Essential Skills:


- Must be able to float to Mother-Baby and circulate C-Sections
- RNs required to titrate drips: Yes (Common Drips: Pitocin)

Unit Staffing:


- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor:
- Generally does not take patients, but provides break relief
- Support Staff: OB Surgical Techs Available

Facility Support:


- OB Hospitalist available 24/7, Neonatologist on call 24/7
- Anesthesia in-house 24/7
- No Vent Equipment

Monitoring & Equipment:


- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips in PACU
- EFM System: GE Corometric Monitors - Fetalink Surveillance

Shift & Scheduling:


- 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 PM
- Reports at the bedside
- EOW and rotate with staff on holidays

Floating Requirements:


- Potentially to all other Sacramento facilities
- Rare mid-shift float to another facility
- No in-house floating

Scrubs: Provided

Cancellation Policy:


- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

Charting System: Cerner

Education: BSN Required: No

License to Submit: Yes
