Project Engineers

Century Contractors is currently seeking Project Engineers. A Project Engineer is responsible for helping Project Managers in the planning, directing, and coordinating industrial and commercial projects. Candidates will be working closely with Project Managers assisting with daily tasks such as coordination of projects, submittals, RFIs, estimates, and various other duties. This position is intended to be an entry‑level role for individuals looking to start a career in construction project management. Ideal candidates have recently graduated with a Construction Management degree or have equivalent work experience. Prior industrial or commercial project management experience is a strong plus. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the organization and management of various industrial or commercial projects. Assist in financial projections. Assist project staff in outlining work‑plans and assigning duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority. Help coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. Assist in preparing status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required. Assist in preparing project reports for management, clients, or others. Assist project personnel in providing technical advice and resolving problems. Assist the on‑site superintendent with duties specific to the project. Assist in maintaining a viable and positive relationship with the customer. Must be able to handle stress and job demands. Must be able to work cooperatively with others. Experience College graduate with a construction‑related degree, or equivalent experience with a High School Diploma or GED. Detail‑oriented professional with exceptional problem‑solving skills, a love for new challenges, and a drive for results. Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Current driver’s license and own transportation to the office. Working Conditions / Physical Effort Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, and other elevated positions, as well as confined spaces. Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in work boots, and working in awkward body positions.
