Cyber Operations Readiness Assessment Network Engineer/Reviewer

Overview We are seeking a Cyber Operations Readiness Assessment (CORA) Lead Team Reviewer to join our team supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Fort Belvoir, VA. The role involves conducting advanced cybersecurity inspections, uncovering vulnerabilities across cutting‑edge networks, and supporting real‑time decision‑making that directly shapes DTRA’s global operations. Responsibilities Perform technical reviews of firewalls, routers, switches, and VoIP/VVoIP systems in accordance with STIGs and SRGs. Validate network segmentation, ACLs, and routing protocols for security compliance. Assess Zero Trust architecture components and ensure proper enforcement of least privilege and micro‑segmentation. Analyze network logs and configurations to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations. Provide technical support to DTRA sites for STIG implementation, vulnerability remediation, and ATO package preparation. Develop comprehensive assessment reports and provide prioritized recommendations for remediation. Required Qualifications Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility. Education: BS in IT/Cybersecurity or equivalent experience. Experience: 8–10 years in network engineering or cybersecurity. Required Certifications: Ability to obtain DoD 8140/8570 IAT III certification within 90 days of hire (CASP+, CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent). Desired Certifications: Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE, Juniper JNCIP, Zero Trust Architecture Certification.
