About the Role

AA2IT is seeking a skilled and dedicated Interventional Rad Tech to join our team in Plano, Texas. This is a contract position requiring a professional with 3-5 years of experience in interventional radiology procedures. You will play a crucial role in assisting physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain interventional radiology equipment, including C-arms, angiography systems, and associated imaging devices.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians during interventional procedures by providing instruments, supplies, and imaging support.
• Administer contrast media and medications as directed by the physician, adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs and condition throughout procedures, responding promptly to any changes.
• Ensure proper radiation protection for patients and staff, adhering to all safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including procedure details, imaging logs, and radiation dose information.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (RTR) and Interventional Radiography (IR).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Interventional Rad Tech.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in operating various interventional radiology imaging equipment.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with PACS and RIS systems.
• Familiarity with specific interventional procedures (e.g., angioplasty, stenting, embolization).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move patients with assistance.
• Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating equipment and handling instruments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Must be able to wear lead shielding for extended periods.

• Salary Range : $70,000 - $150,000 per annum
