AR / Cash Applications Specialist

• Location: Dublin, OH (Hybrid – Tue/Wed/Thu Onsite; Mon/Fri WFH)
• 9 month contract to start - 40hrs per week
• Hourly Rate: $21.00 / hour (W2)

About the Role

Swoon Staffing is partnering with Univar, a Fortune-ranked global industry leader, to find a detail-oriented and analytical Cash Applications & Finance Specialist to join their Dublin, OH team.

This unique role offers a mix of hands-on financial operations and project-based optimization. You will start by mastering core Cash Applications processes—applying payments, reviewing remittance details, and resolving account discrepancies—before transitioning into high-impact finance initiatives focused on analyzing payment data, streamlining workflows, and supporting system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Cash Application & Remittance: Accurately match and apply high volumes of incoming payments (ACH, wires, credit cards, checks) to customer accounts.
• Customer & Account Research: Investigate unapplied cash, review lockbox files, and proactively contact customers to gather missing remittance details.
• Data Analysis & Optimization: Utilize Excel to analyze payment trends, identify automation opportunities, and perform bank-to-ledger reconciliations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Accounts Receivable, IT, and Treasury teams to optimize workflows and reduce aged receivables.
• Reporting: Prepare status reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analytics to communicate project findings to leadership.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, or Financial Analysis.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).
• Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with banking platforms (e.g., Bank of America CashPro) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
• Education: High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analytics is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
