Material Handler / Shipping & ReceivingAcme Industries | Elk Grove Village, ILKeep Production Moving at a Company Built on Precision Since 1948Acme Industries is looking for a Material Handler / Shipping & Receiving Associate to support our growing manufacturing operation in Elk Grove Village.In this role, you'll move materials throughout the facility, receive incoming shipments, prepare outbound orders, and play a critical part in keeping production running safely and efficiently. If you enjoy hands-on work, operating forklifts and cranes, and being part of a team that manufactures components for the aerospace and defense industries, we'd like to meet you.What You'll DoMaterial HandlingMove raw materials, work-in-process parts, and finished components throughout the facilityStage materials for production and transport completed parts to their next operationOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipmentStore and retrieve materials, tooling, and fixtures accuratelySupport inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material trackingMaintain organized, safe, and clean work areasShipping & ReceivingReceive and verify incoming materials and suppliesInspect shipments for accuracy and damageEnter receiving information into our ERP systemPrepare, package, label, and stage outbound shipmentsComplete shipping paperwork and documentationCoordinate shipments and pickups with carriers and internal departmentsSafety FirstFollow all forklift, crane, rigging, and material handling safety proceduresPerform equipment inspections before useWear required PPE and maintain a safe work environmentReport safety concerns, damaged materials, or inventory discrepancies promptlyWhat We're Looking ForRequired High School Diploma or GED Manufacturing material handling experience Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely handle larger materials using equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to read, write, and communicate in EnglishPreferredForklift certificationOverhead crane certificationShipping & receiving experienceERP experience (Made2Manage a plus)Rigging experienceExperience in machining, aerospace, defense, or heavy manufacturing environmentsDon't have forklift or crane certifications?
