Climate and Sustainability Programs Manager (Open) Job Requisition #: 034205 Key Responsibilities Develop and execute Greif’s decarbonization roadmap, SBTi reduction targets, and climate strategy by identifying and leading projects to decarbonize operations, managing the climate and energy resource repository, engaging local markets, and demonstrating positive climate action with business value. Develop reduction initiatives through collaboration with value chain partners, identify, assess, and evaluate climate‑related risks and opportunities, and implement Greif’s sustainability strategy through projects that include support for the annual Sustainability Report, performance evaluation against short, mid, and long‑term targets, compliance with climate‑related disclosure requirements, and development of guidance, tools, and resources for facilities. Collect, validate, and manage sustainability data, including annual GHG measurement and progress tracking aligned with the GHG Protocol, third‑party verification of GHG inventory, and analysis of data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities. Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s level education in a sustainability‑ or climate‑related field. 10+ years of professional experience. 5-7 years of demonstrated technical experience leading, designing, and evaluating projects and programs that promote decarbonization and sustainability. Experience in climate science, greenhouse gas inventories, renewable energy, energy markets, green building, finance, sustainability‑related marketing, and regulatory issues. Knowledge & Skills Familiarity with a wide range of clean energy strategies and technologies and their appropriateness in low‑resource settings. Experience developing and implementing a carbon reduction roadmap. Hands‑on experience leading meaningful carbon reduction within a global company. In‑depth understanding of the GHG Protocol and science‑based GHG reduction methodologies (SBTi). Knowledge of sustainability‑related reporting frameworks and standards (CDP, ISSB, TCFD, SASB, CSRD). Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to build strong stakeholder relationships. Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and distill complex information into clear strategies. Strong business acumen with a talent for defining problems and translating findings into a clear business case. Customer obsession – putting the customer first in designing, innovating, and developing the climate vision. Compensation Compensation Range: $108,400.00 - $184,600.00. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires falls between $130,000.00 and $140,000.00. Offers may vary based on market data and other factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short‑term incentive.
