Job Summary and Qualifications

Utilizes Medical Technician skills and training to perform tests of samples of blood, urine and other body fluids to obtain information utilized in diagnosis and evaluation of a patient's medical situations. Performs laboratory tests and procedures, which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with supervision.

What you will do in this role:

• Assist in various departments as needed.
• Performs testing on pending laboratory specimens.
• Performs proficiency testing as needed.
• Calls and documents critical values.
• Performs Quality Control as needed.
• Maintains instruments.
• Ability to draw blood in consideration of age-specific physiological factors.
• Accurately report patient results.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor or Associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology/clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory scientist (MT/CLS/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution Qualified under CLIA guidelines for MMT/CLS/MLS or MLT/CLT
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training
• ASCP or AMT MT/MLT or equivalent certification or be currently eligible to sit for MLT or equivalent certification exam preferred. Certification must be acquired within one year of hire.
