Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed ICU within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Block scheduling approved
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred)
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and port accessing/managing
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube assistance, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation monitoring, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring and IV insulin protocols
• Experience in acute/chronic renal failure management and GI surgery care

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurological, and GI cases
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted and listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days automatically approved
• No time off permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered based on position details
