Minimum Job Requirements Associate’s Degree in Allied Health, graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program (Required) Experience in Clinical Allied Health Other: In Perinatal areas, Nuchal Translucency Testing Certification is required BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers (Required) RDMS or ARRT (US) (Required) Job Overview This position may exist in hospital imaging departments or in the perinatal specialty area and works under the general direction of the physician and/or supervision of the manager or supervisor. The ultrasonographer demonstrates competencies in a combination of breast, prostate, neonatal heads, body, abdominal, head/neck and interventional ultrasound, performing examinations in accordance with ACR and AIUM guidelines and protocols. The candidate must maintain quality ultrasound exams, accurate records, patient care, infection prevention procedures, and education of new employees. Travel to additional locations may be required. RDMS certification in the appropriate field and continuing education requirements are mandatory. Job Responsibilities Consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic sonograms for radiologic interpretation. Demonstrate competency through ongoing Certified Business Exams and knowledge of equipment operating procedures. Select proper imaging protocols and follow departmental procedures. Provide organizational and communication skills to promote the well‑being of the department and maintain cooperative relationships with interdepartmental team members. Maintain accurate records and complete all paperwork before submission. Ensure patient, family, and staff comfort and care before, during, and after procedures.
