Road Driver

Position Overview Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. Key Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable. Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment. Hook and unhook trailers and convertor dollies, ensuring proper documentation and accurate logs. Comply with hazardous material regulations and follow dispatch instructions, communicating as needed. Load and unload freight, and perform additional duties such as chaining tires or acting as a city driver/dock employee when necessary. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Qualifications & Skills Valid Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat, and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed. Minimum of 1-year recent experience or completion of a driver development course. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to handle trailer hooking, lifting (~100 lbs.), and operate long combination vehicles in various states. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently or in a team, and demonstrate initiative. Working Conditions Long-distance driving in all weather conditions, exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials.
