Agency Sales Specialist (All Lines) — Evan Melkersman Agency, LLC

Location: In-office (Missouri)
Job Type: Full-time (generally 40 hrs/week; may vary)
Reports To: Agency Owner (Evan Melkersman)

Position Summary

We’re hiring an Agency Sales Specialist to drive new business growth while providing excellent customer service. This role is primarily sales-focused (~80% sales / 20% service ) across Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Life.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect, quote, present, and close insurance solutions for new and existing customers
• Sell across  Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Life/Health
• Meet production expectations, including:
• • Minimum 3 issued life applications/month
  • Minimum $12,000 new business premium
• Cross-sell/bundle to increase household retention and value
• Conduct sales and review appointments; follow underwriting guidelines
• Support client service needs (policy changes, account updates, issue resolution)
• Participate in marketing efforts (calls, lead lists, networking, community events, outreach)
• Track sales activity and participate in agency meetings/reporting

Requirements

• Must maintain/obtain Missouri-required licenses:  Property, Casualty, Life, Health
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication skills and comfort with phone-based selling
• Professional, coachable, organized, and goal-driven
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior sales and/or customer service experience
• Comfort using computers, digital tools, and social media
• Insurance background is a plus (but not required if willing to learn)

Schedule / Work Environment

• In-office role
• Occasional evenings/weekends may be needed for events or customer needs

Compensation

• Base wages tied to performance/production (generally 40 hrs/week)
• Commission + bonus opportunities available (details shared during interview)
