Health & Safety Engineer (Fortune 500 Manufacturing) CapstoneONE Search | Grand Haven, MI (On-site)

We are representing a globally recognized Fortune 500 manufacturing organization actively seeking a Health & Safety Engineer for an immediate opening at their Michigan operation. This is a highly visible role on the site EHS team, backed by strong leadership commitment to safety and an excellent platform for future growth.

Position Overview

Partners with the EHS team to coordinate safety activities, monitoring plant conditions that could put employee health and safety at risk or create compliance gaps
Conducts plant audits and program assessments, recommends corrective actions, and documents findings in written reports
Supports incident investigations to identify root cause and drives implementation of changes that prevent recurrence
Delivers employee safety training programs
Monitors site compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and works with plant personnel to close gaps
Helps lead fatality prevention efforts, including deployment of key elements and coaching of site leaders
Partners with site leadership to deliver EHS objectives

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
Internship, co-op, or work experience in a manufacturing environment
Professional certification (CIH, GSP, or ASP) preferred
Industrial hygiene experience preferred, including evaluating and controlling physical, chemical, biological, and ergonomic hazards
Working knowledge of workplace safety, health, and industrial hygiene regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills and solid program management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
