Overview Job Posting Title: Assistant Teacher Hiring Department: University Child Development Center Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 FLSA Status: To Be Determined at Offer Earliest Start Date: Ongoing Location: AUSTIN, TX Position Duration: Expected to Continue Purpose: To provide assistance to the teaching staff in a child care environment. Responsible for providing a variety of functions in support of the teaching efforts in a child care and learning environment. Responsibilities Supervise and care for children in 0-5 years range, assist in implementing lesson plans and supervising children both indoors and outdoors. Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children that complies with child licensing, health requirements and accreditation guidelines for quality care. Communicate daily with parents and attend training. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications High school graduation or GED. Minimum of six months of experience working with young children in a licensed child care center. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with children ages 0-5 years. One year previous experience working with children in an accredited child care center. Formal training in a child related field. Stable work history. Salary Salary Range: $37,443 - 42,000 Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions Use of manual dexterity Climbing of stairs Lifting and moving Sitting on floor with children Exposure to various bodily fluids Working indoors and outdoors Lifting up to 30 lbs.
