Accounting Specialist/ HR Administrator Job in Canton, OH

Direct Hire Salary Range: $60-75,000 based on experience

We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and hands-on Accounting Specialist/ HR Administrator to oversee daily office operations and manage core accounting and administrative functions for a growing business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where many hats are worn and teamwork is essential.

The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing bookkeeping, payroll, customer service, vendor coordination, HR support, and general office management responsibilities while helping keep the business running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Prepare deposits and maintain cash flow records
• Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Process payroll and related reporting

Office Management

• Oversee daily office operations and administrative functions
• Maintain office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships
• Answer phones, emails, and customer inquiries professionally
• Organize and maintain digital and physical records
• Assist management with special projects and reporting

Administrative & HR Support

• Support onboarding paperwork and employee records
• Assist with benefits administration and time tracking
• Help maintain company policies and compliance documentation
• Assist, as needed, with outside vendors, insurance providers, and service contractors

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping, office management, or related experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or other ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Products
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a small business environment
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• High level of integrity and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or related field
• Experience in a small business environment
• Payroll and HR administration experience
• Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting
