Quarry Loader OperatorScotty's Contracting and Stone is accepting applications for a Quarry Loader Operator. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence and seeking a long-term career opportunity!As a full-time employee of Scotty's, you will be eligible for many of our competitive company benefits, including paid holidays & vacation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, company paid life insurance and long-term disability, and Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) retirement plan (employer paid retirement).Responsibilities:Prioritize and maintain a strong safety culture at all timesOperate and monitor equipment including cone crushers, jaw crushers, screen plants, conveyors, and hoppers.Load customer trucks with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining proper weight distributionSafely and effectively operate loaders and haul trucks to move and manage aggregate materialsBuild and maintain stockpiles in accordance with company proceduresPerform daily pre- and post-operation inspections; promptly report any mechanical issuesConduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as neededAdhere to MSHA regulations and company policiesCommunicate clearly with fellow team members, dispatchers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflowTake initiative and work independently or as part of a teamActively participate in fostering a quality control culture to meet and exceed the expected standards.Perform additional tasks as assigned by managementQualifications:Proven commitment to workplace safety and safety complianceExperience operating quarry equipment, including loaders, haul trucks, crushers, and conveyorsStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issuesAbility to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and overtime as neededMust pass a drug screening and comply with a substance-free workplace policyPrevious experience in a quarry or similar heavy equipment environment preferredPhysical Requirements:Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.Conditions: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
