Job Title: Specialist, Quality EngineerJob Code: 43879Job Location: Melbourne, FlJob Schedule: 9/80Job Description:Support multiple programsInterface and collaborate with Management, Program Office, Engineering, Test functions with respect to technical requirements.Knowledge in ISO/AS9100 specificationsStrong written and verbal communication skills to both internal and external customers, often through presentations formatWork on Continuous Improvement Projects, lead Corrective / Preventive Action investigations (RCCA’s, 8D)Develop and implement program quality plans and procedures using statistical quality controls and analyses.Review and approve engineering specification such as Work Authorization Flow Tags (WOFTs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), drawings, models, manufacturing work instruction for adequacy, quality, and compliance to specification and contractual requirements.Material Review Board collaborationFRACAS and Failure Analysis (support role in Test Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings)Creation of Quality Plans and SDRL / CDRL requirementsAbility to work and ensure success in role with minimal direct supervisionPerform/conduct updates to APQP deliverables, FAI reports, internal audits, etc.Potential travel in support of Customer needs.Review/assign/update appropriate Quality Clauses to purchased products.Essential Functions:• Create plans for developing and/or transferring manufacturing operations from one facility to another.• Apply modern quality principles, concepts, and methods to routine aerospace and manufacturing operations, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.• Analyze defect data and implement data‑driven corrective actions.• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance.• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address product and process non‑conformances and compliance gaps.• Demonstrate GD&T fundamentals and understanding of drawing requirements for manufacturing.• Assess the need for First Article Inspections (FAIs) based on trigger events defined in AS9102 and/or contractual flow‑down, and facilitate their completion.• Implement AS9100 requirements into standard work. Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.Ability to obtain a security clearance.Preferred Additional Skills:• Advanced GD&T knowledge, including datums, MMC, circularity, cylindricity, runout, feature control frames, feature of size, etc.• Lean/Six Sigma certification (preference for Green or Black Belt).• Experience collaborating in a Microsoft 365 environment with proficiency in applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.Security Clearance
