The Director of Diagnostic Imaging - Ultrasound plays a critical leadership role in advancing these efforts by ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services that support patient care and institutional goals. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging - Ultrasound provides operational leadership for multiple diagnostic imaging modalities or departments within UT MD Anderson. Working within a complex healthcare environment, the Director of Diagnostic Imaging - Ultrasound oversees clinical operations, financial performance, staffing strategies, compliance, and service excellence. [Department information not provided] The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with a Master's Degree preferred. Candidates should bring significant imaging clinical operations experience, including extensive management leadership experience. Preferred licenses and certifications were not provided; therefore, candidates with demonstrated expertise in imaging operations, strategic planning, financial management, and team leadership will be well positioned for success. Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Leadership • Direct operational clinical activities across multiple diagnostic imaging modalities and departments
• Lead patient care delivery systems and daily imaging service operations across assigned locations
• Ensure effective coordination of imaging services to support quality patient care
• Oversee modality and departmental performance to achieve operational goals Compliance & Quality Management • Manage compliance with regulatory standards and organizational requirements
• Ensure adherence to applicable policies and procedures
• Monitor operational practices to maintain quality, safety, and service standards Strategic Planning & Growth • Participate in strategic planning initiatives for imaging services
• Contribute to the development and execution of growth strategies
• Drive achievement of organizational targets and outcome improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational performance and service delivery Financial & Resource Management • Oversee development of operational budgets
• Monitor key financial indicators and performance metrics
• Evaluate operational results and resource utilization to support organizational objectives People Leadership • Manage human resource activities across assigned areas
• Develop staffing plans to meet operational demands
• Establish productivity and performance-related standards
• Support workforce performance management and operational effectiveness
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards REQUIREMENTS Education Required: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field
Preferred Education: Master's Degree Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field. Certification Required: Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
and certified in ONE of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Sonography (ARRT--S); Breast Sonography (ARRT-- BS); Vascular Sonography (ARRT--VS); Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI --RVS);
or
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Preferred Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS (AB, OB/GYN, or RVT)
Sonography (S) or Vascular (VS) through ARRT Experience: 10 years imaging clinical operations experience to include five years in a management role
Preferred Experience: 8 years imaging clinical operations experience to include five years in a management role, with preferred Master's degree Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience. Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
