LPN / LVN - Correctional Health Profession: Nursing Specialty: Practical Nursing Duration: 6-12 months with option to extend (not to exceed 12 months total) Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Level I or Level II nursing experience License: Valid licensed practical nurse license Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Valid nursing license Description:Positions in this job family involve performing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a correctional facility medical clinic.Responsibilities include taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, among other technical nursing tasks. Typical Functions:Perform nursing procedures or specialized functions based on knowledge, skills, and licensure.Participate in the evaluation of responses to interventions.Assist in assessing, reporting, and recording health status of patients in various settings.Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate aspects of a plan of care.Administer medications as ordered.Report relevant patient information to the supervisor or appropriate health team member. Level Descriptor:Level IThis is the entry-level position where employees perform routine tasks under close professional supervision to build their nursing care skills. Level IIThis is the career level where employees perform a full range of nursing assignments as a Licensed Practical Nurse.Responsibilities include providing guidance and training to others on routine nursing tasks. Requirements:All healthcare staff must complete required online training prior to assignment.Documentation of completed training must be provided to the designated nurse manager before starting. Education and Experience:Level I: Valid licensed practical nurse license as per state regulations.Level II: Valid licensed practical nurse license along with one year of practical nursing experience. Special Requirements:Some positions may require willingness and ability to fulfill job-related travel.Applicants must be available to work any assigned shift or day of the week. #J-18808-Ljbffr
